ABOUT ME

My name is Hallie Hart. Welcome to my portfolio. I am a sports media senior with an emphasis in sports news, and I am expected to graduate from Oklahoma State University in May 2020. I am orignally from Chandler, Oklahoma, and I chose to join OSU's sports media program after I attended two sessions of Dave Hunziker's Sports Media Camp at OSU.
Since my freshman year of college, I have worked for the O'Colly, OSU's student newspaper, and I am now the co-editor-in-chief. I am also a beat reporter for the football, Cowboy basketball and baseball teams.
Although writing is my focal point, I strive to gain experience with a variety of media platforms. I have participated in OStateTV broadcasts, and my duties for these shows have ranged from on-camera talent to video playback operator. I am featured on a weekly segment of a Triple Play Sports radio show called "The Last Call."
As a sports writer, I strive to focus not only on individuals' athletic achievements but also on their personal backgrounds and the paths that have led them to where they are today. Everyone has a story. It is my responsibility as a journalist to report stories accurately and vividly so they can inform and inspire readers.

VIDEO FEATURE
I made this video with Mallory Brookover, a fellow media student at OSU. This video features Jacob-Burch Konda and Sourabh Nashte, two OSU students who are involved in Cowboy Cousins, a mentor program that pairs international students with American students. Jacob is the coordinator of the program, and Sourabh is his "cousin." The video uses Jacob and Sourabh's story to show the benefits of joining Cowboy Cousins.

My audio/slideshow project focuses on Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center's positive impact on OSU's tennis program. I wrote the script for the audio, recorded the audio and took every photograph in the slideshow. The slideshow also includes a clip from my interview with Anne Greenwood.
